On November 27, 1909, thirty-one members withdrew their letters
from Hopewell Baptist Church for the purpose of organizing a church at the old Liberty Grove yard. On December 10, 1909,
Liberty Grove Baptist Church was organized. The Liberty Grove Methodist Church once stood on this site. Older
people have said that this church was destroyed by a cyclone.
The first church was built on the hill south of the present
church. The present church building was completed in early 1952. The land for both churches was donated by members.
Members donated logs to build the buildings; many hours of labor and donations by many people have gone into completing
the original buildings together with all the additions and improvements. In November 2001, the Fellowship Hall was completed.
God has blessed us with a beautiful church-a small country church
beside of the road with a friendly, family atmosphere.
